iPhone History

The iPhone is a line of smartphones designed and marketed by Apple Inc. It was first announced by Steve Jobs on January 9, 2007, and released on June 29, 2007. The first iPhone ran on a version of Apple’s operating system (OS) called iOS, which was initially known as iPhone OS.

The first version of iPhone OS, which was released alongside the original iPhone, was a stripped-down version of the Mac OS X operating system that had been adapted for use on a mobile device. It featured a touchscreen interface that allowed users to interact with the device using gestures such as swiping, tapping, and pinching.

The iPhone has been a major success for Apple, with millions of units sold worldwide. It has been credited with revolutionizing the smartphone market and has become one of the most iconic and recognizable consumer electronics products in the world.

Since its initial release, the iPhone has undergone several major updates, with newer versions of iOS introducing new features such as Siri, Apple Pay, and the App Store. As of September 2021, the latest version of iOS is iOS 15.
